Having a smoothie after your workout can offer several benefits, particularly when it’s made with the right ingredients to support recovery, replenish energy, and enhance muscle repair.

This recipe is so simple and it’s the perfect post-exercise meal! You can make it quickly and eat it within an hour of exercising – the best time to refuel after a hard workout.

Post Workout Strawberry Smoothie

 8 oz low-fat or fat free milk
 1 tbsp peanut butter
 ½ banana
 1 cup spinach
 ½ cup strawberries
 ¼ cup walnuts
 1 scoop protein powder or 1/2 cup nonfat plain or vanilla yogurt

Put all ingredients in a blender. Blend.

If you’re allergic to nuts you can leave out the nut butter or substitute for a nut-free alternative like sunflower butter or soy nut butter

If you’re lactose-intolerant or vegan, use your favorite milk substitute. We love to use almond milk!
